Chicago Bottom Lounge Wedding

—

Angela and Bill – June 20th, 2015

Angela and Bill tied the knot at the Holy Family Church in Chicago and held their reception at the West Loop’s Bottom Lounge. This is one of the most fun and laid-back, but beautiful weddings I’ve had the pleasure of shooting as a wedding photographer. The Bottom Lounge has always occupied a special place in my heart as an enthusiastic attendee of small indie shows, so when I found out that their wedding would be taking place at one of my favorite concert venues, I was admittedly skeptical but intrigued. Based on my experience, the Bottom Lounge conjured images of sweaty mosh pits, far short of anything resembling appropriate wedding affair. Little did I know, the Bottom Lounge has an upstairs space and outdoor patio that provides the most charming and elegant setting for a wedding reception. Keep scrolling for some more whimsical little details, and check out more photos in the gallery!

Pretty indeed…I just had to take a close-up shot of the lace.

This is so beautiful: Angela had the signature of her late mother made into a bracelet for herself and her sisters.

Congratulations, Angela and Bill!

Aside from the eye-catching decor and lovely details, the most touching aspects of the wedding were the heartfelt toasts and genuine outpouring of love for the newlyweds. Bill’s older brother expressed the most simple words of advice that we would all be wise to follow: “Live in the now.”
