Angela and Bill tied the knot at the Holy Family Church in Chicago and held their reception at the West Loop’s Bottom Lounge. This is one of the most fun and laid-back, but beautiful weddings I’ve had the pleasure of shooting as a wedding photographer. The Bottom Lounge has always occupied a special place in my heart as an enthusiastic attendee of small indie shows, so when I found out that their wedding would be taking place at one of my favorite concert venues, I was admittedly skeptical but intrigued. Little did I know, the Bottom Lounge has an upstairs space and outdoor patio that provides the most charming and elegant setting for a wedding reception. Aside from the eye-catching decor and lovely details, the most touching aspects of the wedding were the heartfelt toasts and genuine outpouring of love for the newlyweds. Bill’s older brother expressed the most simple words of advice that we would all be wise to follow: “Live in the now.”
